Hello fellow bloggers!
I know it's been quite some time since I had a chance to post anything, let off some steam, or enlighten you with some of the goodies I'm interested in lately but sometimes things happen in life and a hiatus becomes a necessity. Necessities and sufficiencies are something I've become familiar with lately as I've been studying for the upcoming October LSAT. It hasn't been easy to put life (and by life, I mean my social activities) aside and focus on whats really important but sometimes its what you have to do. I can gladly say that in a month and a half I'll hopefully (fingers crossed) be able to put it behind me and enjoy my senior year.
So hold tight.. I will be back. And who knows.. there may be some sporadic posts every now and then but priorities come first and soon this will be at the top of the list.
All my love,
The AristoChic

It's Been a Long Time Coming..
Sometimes we expect more from others because we would be
willing to do that much more for them. And sometimes we interpret things one
way, when in reality it’s something so much more different than we had
envisioned. We let our expectations get in the way of what’s really happening
and it changes the dynamic of everything.
Relationships are hard. Starting them is easy – a simple
hello could change things, but what happens when you put yourself into the
equation, when you give of yourself and they give back, and things build?
Things get complicated.
Before coming to college I had casually dated; there were
guys my own age, guys who were older. I thought I could play the game talk the
talk, knew what I was doing. At times I found myself not so much in trouble but
in awkward predicaments but in the end, things always ended for the better. I
made friends with some of them, haven’t seen others since, and I thought I had
had my heartbroken – turns out I hadn’t even come close. Then I came to
college, a world where despite all the people from back home, I could kind of
re-invent myself – they had no need to know who I had been in my past dating
life, didn’t need to know the ins and outs of my tastes and my adventures.
Daft Punk - Get Lucky
This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Daft Punk just released the first single from their upcoming album not too long ago and I can't get it out of my head, it's constantly on repeat.

Suit Up, Ted.
I don't know about you guys, but if these pictures don't inspire you to get in the mood for spring and throw on a male-inspired yet fashion-saavy suit then I don't know what will. Enough with giving men the credit, it's time for us to rock the suit while looking effortlessly chic as well!

The Lip Secret
Every girl struggles to find that lip color that matches her perfectly. The procedure goes as follows: you try a thousand lipsticks, you ask people's opinions, you spend a fortune, only to find that it doesn't last as long as you want it to, it feathers, its texture dries your lips... etc etc. Well I've found the solution (in reality, my friend Selin did).

Spring Break 2014 Anyone?
I know I'm jumping the gun but when I find something as gorgeous as this, a girl can only hope everyone will jump on board and join in on the fun. Wouldn't you want to stay in this gorgeous villa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico?

Beauty Tips - The Hand Scrub
While winter may be over, that doesn't mean that the cold weather has got to stop. Despite Boston's gorgeous sunny day on Sunday, between monday and yesterday, Boston has proven to be overcast and chilly. As excited as we all are for above freezing temperatures, this weather plans on sticking around for a little while and that can be damaging to our skin, especially your hands and your face. In searching around some of my favorite blogs, I came across what the Beauty Department has dubbed the best hand scrub - something that can be easily done at home and inexpensive as well.

Detox Smoothies
With spring break sadly over, I'm sure most of your bodies are begging for a break! What better way to give back to your body than with something yummy and healthy like a detoxifying smoothie? I've found six easy recipes that are sure to satisfy your detox craving as well as boost your energy.
Cheery Cherry Detox Smoothie:
Tart but sweet enough for balance, this smoothie offers you a good dose of greens and antioxidant-packed cherries. To make the smoothie, you'll need the following -
1 cup of frozen cherries
A handful of fresh kale
1 cup of milk or non-dairy milk (depending on your tastes)
2 cups of water
2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Throw it all into a blender, add some ice if you like it cold, blend, and voila!

Pineapple Swiss Chard Smoothie:
This smoothie is similar to the one at LA Sports Club here in Boston with a few additions. If you're familiar with the Green Monster smoothie form Blue Cafe at the gym, you'll need about the same ingredients, except switch the water for pineapple juice, make it spinach, and add some vanilla protein.
3 cups of swiss chard or spinach leaves - packed
2 cups of banana
2 cups of frozen pineapple chunks
1 cup of frozen mango junks
1 cup of frozen strawberries
3 cups of coconut water or regular water

Zara Spring Goodies
I've got to give props to Zara, who has released some incredible shoes for their new collection making me wonder if after all I should give them a buy. I've loved their clothes for years but I'm skeptical when it comes to their shoes as I've never found myself attracted enough to purchase them. Check out some of my favorites below. These babies will most definitely be gracing the floors of my closet!

Paris Fashion Week II
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Fall 2013 shows in paris!
Givenchy
With trumpet skirts, boot cut pants, and extra-long dresses, Tisci offered a gypsy-Victorian vibe throughout his collection which showcased thigh-skinning boyfriend sweaters (I want!) and incredible tough-girl moto leather jackets that were also featured in printed versions. While there was the sense of grunge, his lively colored prints and rose-bud covered caps on the models heads added a clever touch to his collection and to the show overall. Tisci showed he wasn't afraid to play with prints and textures.

Lanvin
Alber Elbaz delivered another amazing collection, featuring oversize printed florals, dresses with lots of volume, and party dresses with layers upon layers of ruffled organza. While there were some masculine aspects to this collection, there was feminine ease with cinched waists and body conscious dresses as seen below. Embellishments were in the large with quirky
illed with frocks printed with jumbo florals, slouchy suits, and party dresses so ruffled with organza tiers they resembled mille-feuille, this was a collection that walked the delicate line between masculine and feminine with perfect ease. Belted utility jackets in leather and wool looked superchic when paired with flirty A-line skirts, while jewel-tone shift dresses embellished with jumbo dragonfly gems added plenty of Elbaz's signature playful cool.
Isabel Marant
Not much can be said except for fabulous. Again, Isabel Marant captures the essence of what the non-chalant girl wants to wear, using staple colors that are perfect for fall. There were tweed jackets, soft tshirts and pullovers, tons of mini skirts, and studs - so as to all contrast between a soft and hard look. What's most interesting about this upcoming collection is that Marant has strayed from her usual denim heavy boho-Americana look she's famous for and veered towards a more wearable easy going vibe. It shows a promising future for the direction of this brand who is known for its iconic Bekket sneakers.
Hermes
Stunning silhouettes, with just the right hem length to be sexy but still keep with the classic vibe that comes from the house everyone covets accessories from.
Viktor and Rolf
I'm a huge fan of Flowerbomb but I had never really kept up with Viktor and Rolf's couture side of things, needless to say I was very impressed with their collection for Fall. The clothes, which was almost exclusively black and white, featured dresses, skirts, and shirts with what has become their signature ruffle and bow combo. What I loved about the color palette is the edge it lends to pieces that might have been sweet-looking had they been in other colors. Yet they decided to show some leg and pair these ruffles and bowswith short almost tutu-like miniskirts. My favorite pieces from their show were the embroidered and beaded garments that seem to look ripped when it reality hours of work had gone in to craft these garments.
Saint Laurent
As most of you know, not that long ago Heidi Slimane was appointed the new Creative Director of what used to be known as Yves Saint Laurent, a house that in my opinion needed no changing. I can't say that I'm thrilled with his second collection for the house as he showed his take on 'couture goes grunge,' which has been seen time and time again. While there were a few pieces I did love, such as the ones below, he also featured plaid baby-doll dresses that seemed an ode to Courtney Love and her 90's look as well as fishnet tights with black biker boots. Some could say that his designs showed no originality. Some even believed he was staging a fake show and that the real show would follow the next day. Needless to say there were many that were unimpressed with Slimane's collection for Fall.
Cheers! The Aristochic
