I've been parting my hair down the middle for longer than I can imagine; and while I may have parted it a little askew every now and then, it never fails when I'm about to blow dry my hair every night that I make that line straight.down.the.middle. In a world of "whatever works," center parts usually rule. But as you've all seen, the side-part has become a huge trend on many of Fall 2013's runways as well as a Spring 2013 hair trend.
You can wear it left or wear it right, up, down, wet, dry, when you're rushing or when you have time. It works if you have long hair or short hair. Even if you have the tightest of curls, it's all about using the right product and you're sure to achieve the desired look. While there are various forms of the "side-part," I prefer the soft side part, as I'm a fan of that 'non-chalant' attitude so that my hair looks as if I put absolutely no effort into it when in reality I put tons of elbow grease into getting it just perfectly-so.
DKNY, Lanvin, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Derek Lam, Akris, and Boy by Band of Outsiders all featured this soft sexy look on their runways and below you'll find some inspiration if you find that you're sick of wearing your hair down the middle. You'll also notice the soft look on all these lovely ladies sporting the trend du jour, so a tip - keep it soft. Spring may be in the air, but winter has yet to leave us.. go for a nude or pink, matte or glossy lip and keep the eye makeup to a bare minimum. I've always been a fan of eyeliner and opening up my eyes for a sexy cat-eye look, but lately I've become a fan of a more natural look highlighting my cheeks with NARS's 'Super Orgasm' blush and its 'Copacabana' highlighter, while I pile on the mascara to draw attention to my big blue eyes. Try it out!
