How many of you have gone after what you wanted, despite your belief that you did not foresee the circumstances ever going your way? If you hit the "read more" button, you'll find yourself enchanted.. do yourself the favor.. click the read more, you won't be disappointed! Happy Thursday, kids.

La Reina / The Queen

Spent the day running missions around town with a ma petit Karla, and stumbled upon this little gem called "Love Poems" by Pablo Neruda while browsing at Anthropologie. I'm a huge fan of Neruda's and one poem caught my eye and I knew that I had to have this collection of poems.

The book features the original poem in Spanish and the translation on the opposite page. Below find one of my favorites called La Reina (The Queen).

La Reina                                                       The Queen

Yo te he nombrado reina.                             I have named you queen.
Hay mas altas que tu, mas altas.                   There are taller ones than you, taller.
Hay mas puras que tu, mas puras.                There are purer ones than you, purer.
Hay mas bellas que tu, hay mas bellas.         There are lovelier than you, lovelier.

Pero tu eres la reina.                                      But you are the queen.

Celebrity Spotlight - Rita Ora

I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with Rita Ora, but if you aren’t you should be! The British singer-songwriter, who has been compared to the likes of Rihanna, and is also a protégé of Jay-Z, is creating a storm in both the music and the fashion world. With those platinum blond curls, her blood red lipstick (my go-to/absolute favorite), and fabulous nails, I knew she was my kind of woman when I first saw her in her video for “How We Do (Party).” She’s a girl who’s dedicated to her look and adventurous too! I love someone who’s not afraid to be themselves and not conform to society’s standards.

Music Monday II - Suit & Tie

I know its like the third post today, but I had to, had to, had to, post this video! I'm a huge JT fan, even more so from his days in N*Sync. I really fell head over heels in love with him though when I went to one of his first concerts as a solo artist. It was incredible - the man knows how to perform - I can tell you that much.

A Tribute to my Idol, Coco Chanel

My love affair with Chanel began at a young age, being that my mother always had a fascination for the brand. Chanel and I were destined to go together like two peas in a pod; her associates even gifted her a classic black Chanel 2.55 bag the day I was born. I'm telling you, it was destiny. Since I was a kid I've coveted anything Chanel, read all the mini books, articles, seen the documentaries, the films, and drooled over everything Kaiser Karl has done with the house.

Chocolate Truffles

Winter Accents

As much as I've been complaining about the cold, I do love the idea of dressing up for it. There's so much fun you can have with all these winter-themed accessories. There's also nothing wrong with a little bit of fur every once in a while.. I for one, am a fan! Check out some of my favorite looks I've seen lately

Sundaze

Its been a rough weekend here in Boston. Despite the freezing temperatures, it has not deterred us from going out and having our fair share of good times. Today is the day I dread the most, but after a long nights sleep, I'm ready to tackle laundry, dishes, homework, and the MIAMI HEAT. Today, they face the Boston Celtics on Celtics turf. Its the first time Ray Allen hits the court as a visitor to his old team, and this time, his presence at TD Garden as a visitor will be substantially different than previous visits.

Day Dreaming

It goes without saying that I’m BEYOND over this cold weather. It’s the coldest it’s been in my three years here in Boston. I question myself on the daily as to why the hell I ever left the sunny beaches and warm weather of paradise for slushy snow, crazy winds, and 2am curfews. As much as I love you Boston, you’re currently killing me.

What I wouldn’t do to fly to Kuwait and seclude myself in Missoni’s second-ever Hotel Missoni, which was opened in early 2011. The place is stunning. With its location on the Salmiya seafront, the hotel’s design is perfect with its bright boho-chic patterns and details. Everything about the hotel just puts you into a good mood. The hotel has been filled to the brim with everything Missoni, from the coffee cups and Missoni patterned pool, to the decorative pillows on your bed. There’s also complimentary Maserati chauffer service from the airport, too. Hello—when, can I check in? This property has just put Kuwait on my “must visit list."

The Couture Shows

If there were one thing I would love to do in life, it would be to sit front row (with my mother, of course) at the couture shows in Paris. Just to sit in the Grand Palais, in my favorite city in the WORLD. Totally. Unimaginable. Over the last few days, Paris has undoubtedly been inundated with celebrities, models, and fashion designers alike just to see what the famous couture houses have come up with this season.

After going through hundreds of photographs of the shows, I picked out some of my most coveted looks. The pieces that stood out the for the most part came from Valentino, Elie Saab, Alexis Mabille, and Giambattista Valli (best for last, obviously!)

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to start somewhere, I would start with Valentino. Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, who stepped up when Mr. Valentino stepped down, the collection was full of floral embellishments and garden-reminiscent pieces, with piping on dresses and capes mimicking that of wrought iron gates. The models practically floated down the runway. As usual, everything was delicate and feminine, as their color palate featured whites, cream, pale pink, gray, and even some black.

A La 'Kate Moss'

Some people consider themselves Francophiles, some Shopaholics, others bibliophiles (people obsessed with books, for you regular folk)… and me? Well I love Kate Moss.

You all know Kate... well you don’t know her, but you know of her. Obviously. If not, you’re living under a rock. She’s famous for her controversial private life, high-profile relationships, her party lifestyle, and drug use.

What most attracts me to Kate is her style. There aren’t many other women out there who exude as much confidence and could care less about people’s opinion than Ms. Moss herself. That in of itself makes her a role model for girls.  Most of you probably don’t realize that she’s the reason certain trends have been set. She made Balenciaga’s “Moto” bag the IT bag back when they first came out. Same with those 70’s style high-waisted, wide-legged jeans. She’s also become the master and commander that effortless and never contrived look we all set out to have when we venture out of our houses on the daily. It’s no wonder she’s always on the best dressed list.

I Feel Pretty

I've always been fascinated with interior design and the like, especially with vanities. To me, there is nothing more personal and more beautiful than some organized clutter. It speaks volumes about a person. I stumbled upon this post in one of my favorite blogs called "Honestly WTF" and I had to repost some of these, I loved them too much not to. Check out some of my favorites after the jump! Enjoy!

Prabal Gurung x Target

Though the announcent came out months back, just a week ago, the photos for Prabal Gurung’s collaboration with Target were released, and I could not be more in love! Funny I should say so, seeing as how the collection is said to be inspired by “a girl's journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone — from the first date to meeting the parents to the engagement," Gurung said.

New Years Resolutions

Out with the old and in with the new right? I guess that works for for about a week or two when we’re all intent on proving we can make resolutions and really keep them... but then you go back to school or to work, to your boyfriend/lover/friends and the events keep coming one after the other, the excuses pile up, and you tell yourself, ‘Oh, I’ll just pick it back up on Monday!’ Then Monday comes along and you find some other excuse that will deter you from your goals… we’re all guilty of it. That’s okay though! Here are some easy steps I find might help you all get geared up for facing the new year head on:

Good Move, MObama!

Wow! That was my first reaction to Michelle Obama's dress for the 2013 Inauguration Ball. I was pleasantly surprised with her choice of the red chiffon and velvet gown that was custom designed for Mrs. Obama by Jason Wu. Like I had mentioned in my earlier post, people felt that with her new sense of confidence in fashion, Michelle would go with something bold, and indeed she did! In fact, all her outfits over the last few days have proved successful!

Always a fan of Jason Wu's designs, as established by her choice in her first Inaugural Ball gown, she has continued support for the designer, and was even the first person to wear his brand new contemporary label, Miss Wu, which won't hit stores until this month.

Cheers! The Aristochic

What Do YOU Believe In?

What do YOU believe in?

I believe in making my bed in the morning, no matter how late I am.
I believe that a little bit of crazy is alright.
I believe that you can never have too many shoes.. just ask Imelda Marcos.
I believe in going for what you want, despite any obstacles.
I believe in doing what you love.
I don’t believe in diets.
I believe in smiling, even when it may hurt.
I believe in never letting go.
I believe in fighting for what you want.
I believe in the healing powers of ice cream.
I believe that dreams come true.
I believe in making mistakes, as long as you learn from them.
I don’t always believe in myself, but I’m learning to push myself forward.

In Honor of the Inauguration...

While most of you (myself included) are loving that you have tomorrow off and you get to sleep in late (myself not included), most of you will probably sleep through Obama’s second inauguration.

Though I’m not a huge fan, I am a fan of Michelle’s fashion choices throughout the years. That being said, her bridal-inspired Jason Wu gown for the inaugural ball in 2008 launched her as an international style icon for many. Countless blogs documented her fashion choices throughout Obama’s first term in office, and I’m sure that they will continue to as she stands by while he serves his second term.

New Year, New Me, New Project

Helloooo readers!

This blog is dedicated and in thanks to my friends. Without you, it would not exist. Little pieces of you are what help me to be a better me, and without you, I would not be half the person I am. You girls are the extra sisters I wish I had growing up. You all know who you are.

To clarify/begin, this all started as a joke…

“You should have a blog, we’ve all discussed this before…” said one friend.
