Who doesn't love a great pair of sunglasses? I know I do, coming from living in tropical weather and all. So it's no surprise that I've fallen head over heels for Karen Walker's Spring 2013 line of eponymous sunglasses.
After launching the brand in 1988, the New Zealand based designer has won over the heads and minds of many fashionistas and sunglasses enthusiasts alike. Her designs are bold and weird, yet chic at the same time. She's enjoyed playing with different styles and juxtaposing masculine and feminine, luxurious and casual, and edgy and sweet to make shades that suit everyone's varied tastes.
Her latest campaign choses a slightly less traditional route, as it celebrates the "all-for-one philosophy" by choosing some badass models like Linda Rodin (skin care pioneer) and Ilona Smithkin (artist and performer) in order to show that Karen Walker is for everybody, of all ages, depicting the notion of eternal optimism and the obsession of today's culture with beauty and youth. I for one can see why she's earned so many accolades from Vogue and InStyle, she's absolutely genius.
Cheers! The Aristochic
